You took extremal cases, however even in this case the most of difference is just visibility. Shortly after you buy UAZ, you will see many advantages in your choice and vice versa. And if you like UAZ, it is not too smart to buy RX-8, you will be unhappy with its offroad abilities, pricing of spare parts and fuel consumption. As usual: take what you like. Every car has four wheels and enough advantages for couple months of happy owning.
